in the shadow of mars

there are words unsaid and stuck in my throat.
violently protesting in this light.
choking my only heart.
lean closer.
i can free you.
veins are pumping primary colors and echoes.
if i lean closer to you, will there be freedom for me?

the burning in my stomach

new sadness is coming down soon. we are solidifying the last pieces of a new song. the show at the mink with spain colred orange was great. we had alot of people make it out and we had great response... i love sporatic screams.

we are trying to get some time in the studio to record some of the new songs. i would love to record kayla/amber as well. it is such a gorgeous song... i love listening to it. perhaps, early next month we will get in the studio. hopefully, in the meantime justin will get the music we did at big door mixed and mastered.

long and lost

have not forgotten you, even though this is vacant. we have been busy writing new material and recording another ep. justin (our synth/keybaord player) is doing the mastering for it. it is a slow process but well worth the wait.

i will try to keep this current, and plead with others to contribute as well. cryer writes like he plays and it would be a treasure to see his thoughts put here.

walters 3.11.2007

the show at walters with margot, co-pilot and iam trees was beautiful. we played with some truly amazing houston bands. i personally love co-pilot and right now have their song playing on my account. to see them live was even more amazing, to actually share a stage was an honor. margot was a humbling experience...their guitar work and stage presence is nothing short of glory. hopefully, we can all play with one another again. we seem to have found some like-minded bands here in houston.

core was not there and that was amiss (for me at least). she has been a staple in this sadness and to not have her there was simply incomplete. we love and miss her.

on a side note, for those that cannot grasp:
we play only because we have to. this is our therapy, our medication and our addiction. you hear what you hear because it has to have some way to come out.

all aged

alot has been going on since the last entry. we have two new members, scott and justin. we have been together a little more than a month but the beauty we are creating is nothing short of amazing. we have almost an entire new set which will be played this sunday at walters. we play with two other really great houston bands, co-pilot and margot. i am excited about sharing a stage with them... i saw margot years ago with love me destroyer when corby was playing with them. they are so tight, and from what i have heard of co-pilots new stuff i am really taken in.

not dead (by a long shot)

[if you are reading, then you can hear]
we are working on some new songs while we try to set up more dates. these songs are who we are as a band, a family, a voice. they are gorgeous and powerful.

tonight without her arms

there is new love coming from the blue room.

her name is rose. the mere mention oh her name send shudders down my spine. you can do nothing but bask in her beauty. we (dan and i tonight) are thinking about giving her to you at the mink show. we, of course, have to discuss this with the others but how could they deny her?

we are getting new ep's pressed as soon as we get enough money. hopefully, we can do this by show time... who knows.

even though jefe broke his hand he is still playing the show. it was broken for the proletariat show as well but not a sol could tell. after the show a doctor got a hold of it and now it hurts worse than before. he came and played on monday (and then again tonight) and playing next to him i could not even tell.
